I am not denying that you are not having problems.we just have not found the cause for this issue. If I saw a single one with this malfunction, the issue would be fixed and this thread would not be here. There are lots of Macintoshes at Adobe happily running Illustrator. Felt like I was in OZ for a second there. I called the local OS X expert, Dave, who also posts to this newsgroup, and he was able to empty my simply repeating the process three times. If it makes you feel any better, I had some real problems emptying my trash today. Repairing your permissions with the Disk First Aid tool might help some people with this issue. Or allowing you to copy a file but not write to it. Permissions problems can do STRANGE things like allowing you to do anything but delete a file. So.for people whose problem does not match items 1 and 2.are you all running OS X? One thing that can do this is a permissions problem and that would be specific to OS X. I'm not sure how that could come into play and am not certain this is a solution at all.ģ) There is at least one additional cause to this problem. It can be solved by applying the patch.Ģ) There is a suspected issue with Norton File Protection I think one user claimed success at fixing the problem by disabling this program. Some users in this thread have this issue. That is corrected by applying the 10.0.3 patch. It left invisible files and you got a -47 error when attempting to save. What makes this problem extra difficult is that we have at least three different issues causing this problem.ġ) Illustrator 10.0.0 had a problem writing some types of files over a network. I don't know if I feel better or worse now to find out this isn't an isolated problem. Do you want to continue?" when in fact it has not been touched by another program. Do you want to save?" When I click "Save" I get the message "This file has been modified outside of Illustrator. If I've modified the file (in Illustrator only) and I go to close the window I get the standard "Your file has changed, yatta, yatta. We have received an additional message the I haven't seen anyone mention yet. EPS's however, gives us the error no matter what combination. in CMYK or RGB, with just simple vector elements or with the inclusion raster effects like drop shadows, as postcript 2 or 3, doesn't matter. I've try just about every combination I can think of. The problem occurs whether you save local or on the server. We are running a Windows 2000 server, Suitcase 10.1.3 on all Macs and none have Norton File Protection. We have an office with 12 new Dual 1ghz Macs, running OSX 10.2.2 and Illustrator 10.0.3 all experiencing this same problem.
